Activities and Classes by Age
Children
We have
many children
here, and we want their needs considered during our worship service.
Therefore we have an attended
nursery available for
infants where you can also stay with your child if you prefer.
For our older children,
two “Children’s
Learning Time” sessions
are available during morning
worship. One is designed for children 2-5 and the
second for
children 6-11 years of age. These sessions begin after our communion
service and are announced by our song leader who excuses them from the
adult worship services. "Noah's Ark" session is available during our evening
worship service for
children in the first through the sixth grade. They’ll have a
great experience, so encourage them to attend if possible.
We divide up the children for Bible classes by age:
- Cradle Roll—0 to 2 years old
- Toddler—2 to 3 years old
- Pre-school—4 to 5 years old
- First and Second grade
- Third and Fourth grade
- Fifth and Sixth grade
Teenagers
Our teenage Bible class consists of seventh
through twelfth graders.
Meg Goodspeed, and Kevin Kessell coordinate our teen ministry and work as a team to provide meaningful activities. Additional families open up their homes for various teen functions. This growing ministry includes such activities as;
- Hiking the White Mountains
- Devotionals
- Swim parties
- Basketball games
- Summer teen camp
The Kingswood leaders recognize the critical importance of our teens in our current fellowship and to the future church. Therefore as growth occurs, we will add a full-time Family and Teen Minister to focus on this vital ministry. Meanwhile the Kingswood teens are encouraged and guided by dedicated and capable adults. The teen’s future is exciting!
Adults
For Bible class, our adults meet in:
- Classroom #6—New members class
- Auditorium class—various topics
Sunday Mornings Wednesday nights Gospel of John
Book of Hebrews
Our church provides many
opportunities that engage our adults in a host of fulfilling ministries
and activities.
- Young Married Ministry: We offer various activities for this fastest growing segment of our family. They range from service projects that help us serve like the Savior, to “fun and fellowship” parties that strengthen our ties of friendship and love.
- Women’s Class: A Bible class for women meets each Thursday at 9:45 a.m. The ladies class is studying "Ephesians" led by June Cornelius from December 2007 through February 2008. Following the class, many of the women choose to continue their fellowship over lunch at a local restaurant.
- Ministry Opportunities: The elders and deacons provide a variety of ministries that use our men and women’s diversity of talents. Some of the ministry roles include teachers and their helpers; story narrators and puppeteers as a part of our Children’s ministry; mentors for new Christians; leaders, hosts, and mentors for our teens; food/fellowship; neighborhood evangelism and worship participants.
Future: Kingswood is a relatively new church, and we will add other activities as we continue to grow and as God provides additional resources. Our future is bright!
